Madonna della Salute 21/11/21

21 novembre 2021
Every year, the 21 of November Venice celebrates the “Madonna della Salute” day, one of the most fascinating autumn festivities.
This venetian festivity, as the Redentore, is celebrated in memory of the plague, which lasted for two years from 1630-31, and the subsequent vow by the Doge to obtain the intercession of the Virgin Mary.
Still today every year on the Feast of the Salute Venetians and foreigners alike join in the pilgrimage to the majestic Longhena’s basilica, crossing the votive bridge, to give thanks and praise the Virgin Mary to keep them in good health.
