Redentore Event 15-16 July 2023

The Redentore event is absolutely one of the most heartfelt celebrations by the Venetians. A tradition that dates back to 1577 when, at the end of the terrible plague that struck the city, the citizens commissioned Andrea Palladio to build the church of the Redentore on the Giudecca Island. Every year, on the occasion of Redentore celebrations, a 330-meter-long votive bridge of boats is built that connects the Redentore church to the Zattere, a long foundation that forms the southern limit of the city of Venice.

This festival allows you to savor the most authentic and religious side of Venice; but also the more worldly one, dictated by boat celebrations and spectacular fireworks over the entire San Marco basin on the evening of July 15 from 10.30pm for about 1 hour.
