PROGRAMMA:
Dalle ore 9.00 alle 17.00 apertura gratuita della Scuola con accesso al famoso ciclo pittorico del Tintoretto ed esposizione del "tendon del Doge", apparato eretto a ricordo della visita solenne che il Doge con tutta la Signoria faceva alla Scuola Grande, a seguito del voto al Santo per la liberazione dalla pestilenza che affliggeva la città.

L'attuale baldacchino, già presente in forma diversa nei quadri del Canaletto e di Gabriel Bella risale agli ultimi anni della Repubblica ed è stato probabilmente progettato da Bernardino Maccaruzzi, l'architetto della facciata della Chiesa.

Ore 18: messa solenne presieduta da sua Eccellenza, il Patriarca di Venezia Angelo Scola.

A seguire cerimonia di consegna del Premio San Rocco 2010. La Scuola Grande Arciconfraternita di San Rocco ha istituito dal 1994 il premio che consistente in una medaglia d'oro, da attribuire ogni anno in occasione della festa, a persone che si siano particolarmente distinte nell'ambito dell'assistenza agli ammalati ed ai bisognosi.

HISTORICAL REGATTA | 5TH September 2010

The Historical Regatta takes place every year, the first sunday of september, is one of the most spectacular, picturesque and moving events of Venetian life, capable of both charming the tourists and exciting the venetians.

It is celebrate to commemorate the welcome given to Caterina Cornaro, wife of the King of Cyprus, in 1489 after she renounced her throne in favour of Venice.
It is a procession of 16th century style boats, with the famous Bucintoro, the boat representing the Serenissima, at its head.
Then comes the competition. The spectators participate with shouts of encouragement during the sporting events.

VOGALONGA | 23rd May 2010

This celebration, born in the ‘90 thanks to some Venicians to remember the problem of waves’ movement, it's a rowing run to the discovery of the lagoon and its hidden landscapes.
The 36th edition of Vogalonga will be on May 23th 2010

It's a 30 Km competition between different kind and shapes of boats, open to Venetians and foreigners.
It starts near San Marco in front of Ducale Palace, going on between the islands of the lagoon and back in Venice through Cannareggio’s Rio.
